Being persuaded to install remote-control software so a “work tool” or “IT setup” hands your device to a scammer.
The victim is asked to install remote-access or screen-sharing software (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, and similar) as part of “onboarding,” “equipment setup,” or an “IT check.” Once connected, the scammer can see the screen, capture credentials, move money, or plant malware.
No legitimate employer needs remote control of your personal device to hire or onboard you.
