Crypto ATMs (or kiosks) let you turn cash into cryptocurrency sent to any wallet address. Scammers exploit this by instructing victims — sometimes as a job “deposit” or “activation fee” — to feed cash into a kiosk and scan a QR code that routes the funds straight to them.
Once the cash becomes crypto and leaves the machine, it is effectively gone. No legitimate employer will ever ask you to use a crypto ATM.
